Work progress

• First presentation was done, by introducing our team members, problems, organisation of works and proposed way of providing solution.
• A small meeting of the members to discuss and revise on what have been done, and the organisation as well.
• Task planned :
  • Simulation of whole catchment
  • Separating catchment to 4 sub-catchments in GIS and createdd each sub-catchment to TIN, and prepare for importing to MOUSE
  • Learning other software to do the simulation (SOBEK)

Day 2

Work progress

• Continued the work on preparing sub catchments GIS file for MOUSE, but failed to convert TIN to ASCII, (correct values in ASCII are not shown)
• Continued on MOUSE Simulation of the whole catchment, and it was fruitfull.
• Continued on learning SOBEK, and progress was made

Day 4

• SOBEK to ISIS, as advised by supervisor

• Attended WCWF.
• Having made all the sub-catchment and converted the raster to ASCII.
• Continued MOUSE simulation.
• Found the right way to import input data from ISIS (catchment DEM, building, road) for a single sub-catchment.

• MOUSE simulation continued with more geometry
• ISIS was progressed with the input of the sewer network and manholes of the specific sub-catchment.

• Visited Chongye stream, and had a cultural visit in Insadong, Seoul

Day 6

• Create a simulation model using ISIS
• Complete the simulation with DHI (Pump & reservoir)
• Change the precipitation input data for the simulation using DHI

• More understanding of using ISIS and successfully import one sub-catchment, …..

• Running a simulation using DHI with one reservoir operating at the downstream area, however, without any pump.
• Running a simulation using DHI with not only reservoir but also 7 pumps in the study area.
• A observed real precipitation will be used for the above simulations. The event happened on August 4th 1997.

• GIS task almost completed, Xiao Yan will update the ArcGIS file to our workspace.
• next: calculate the under-catchment coefficient.
• Kwang Nam will analyse the Mike program with time concentration and rainfall data to do simulation.
• We will work on the flood simulation corresponding to the rainfall intensity.
• Dadiyorto has updated the workspace yellow team page, with everyone's profile page.
• Nga will analyse the precipitation and hydrology data.

• Xiao-Yan's GIS files have been updated to the workspace
• Nga has looked through the hydrology datas and will send us her comments via email.
• Verin has made some files of catchment+MNT+flow direction on arcgis.
• Dadiyorto will update the above-mentioned files to our workspace.

• GIS: This task is finish; GIS: We must verify the final file this week.
• Hydrology analysis: Hydrology task is progress, the hydrograph has been done and we have decided the rainfall intensity for our project. We will calculate the runoff coefficient with Arcgis to finish this task... Cherry will do a report to explicate the process.
•  Simulation: We decide to use Mike flood (Mouse or Mike urban). This software is appropriate for this simulation and is available for all people in our team (remote desktop).

• runoff coefficient: Dadiyorto has calculated the general runoff coefficient for all the catchment with ArcGIS.

• Determination of TC and hydrology analysis: Xiao Yan has looked at the concerned parameter and she will work out soon.
   
• MIKE: Simon and Wesley learn MIKE and the Mikezero work is almost finished.   They had some problem to assemble the MNT with building and road so they will solve it soon.
   
• First Presentation: Dong-Woo and Hiroshi start to prepare the first presentation. Other members send information about their work.
